WATCH THE VIDEO HERE   Chocolate Brown Is Having a Moment If you’ve been anywhere near a fashion magazine lately, you’ll know that chocolate brown is having a very big moment for AW26. Smith & Soul has embraced it beautifully, but rather than making it feel heavy or overly autumnal, they’ve mixed it with soft pinks, creams, blues, olive and toffee. Our favourite styling trick? Try chocolate brown with pink for an instant lift, or pair it with denim for something wonderfully easy. Brown and blue might not have been an obvious combination once upon a time, but trust us — it works.     Start With Denim One of the easiest ways to introduce Smith & Soul into your wardrobe is with denim. The oversized, boxy denim jacket is a particular favourite, with its gorgeous chocolate embroidery and lovely swing shape. Throw it over a T-shirt now, then layer it over a knit or shirt when the weather cools. And don't forget the brown denim — a soft barrel shape looks fabulous with the collection's chocolate stripes and pinks. Styling tip: if you're wearing a wider-leg or barrel-shaped trouser, try a top that finishes around the waist or hip to keep your proportions balanced.           The Art of Layering The beauty of Smith & Soul is that so many of the pieces can be worn in layers. The little boxy T-shirts work beautifully underneath jackets, while the lightweight shirts can be worn buttoned up, open over a simple top or tucked into trousers. Then there are the soft cape-style knits, perfect for the transition into autumn. Wear one now with nothing underneath, then add a long-sleeved T-shirt when the temperature drops. It's practical, but still looks beautifully put together.     Don't Be Afraid of Colour We absolutely love the pink, blue and olive combinations running through the collection. If your wardrobe is usually more neutral, don't feel you need to suddenly become a walking rainbow. Start small. A soft pink sweatshirt with chocolate denim is an easy introduction, while a blue-and-pink striped top looks gorgeous with white jeans now and darker denim later. Pick one colour from a patterned piece and repeat it somewhere else in your outfit -  it instantly makes everything look more considered.     The Pieces You'll Keep Wearing And then there are the investment pieces - beautifully soft knitwear, relaxed trousers and a gorgeous oat-milk coloured coat that looks equally good with jeans or something smarter. After a couple of weeks away, we thought it was probably time to remind everyone that Kings Road Fashions still exists! So, instead of our usual Friday evening Style It Live, we went rogue and brought you a Tuesday lunchtime edition: outside the shop, in the sunshine and surrounded by plants, deliveries and the occasional flying insect. Very glamorous! WATCH THE VIDEO HERE   With the heatwave still firmly in charge, we’re concentrating on what you actually want to wear right now. Think cool cottons and linens, easy dresses, shorts, colourful tops, skirts and fabulous little co-ords. There are also plenty of brilliant sale bargains, with tops from £15, shirts around £23.50, shorts from £30 and white jeans from just £35. If you love a good bargain, there are plenty of treasures still to be found.   We’ve also been looking ahead to that slightly awkward time of year when it’s hot during the day but suddenly chilly at 7pm. Our answer? Lightweight layers. Linen trousers, textured shirts, light knits, denim-look trousers and easy jackets are all perfect for bridging the seasons without committing to a jumper just yet.       And yes, we did talk about autumn... because while we’re currently melting, we know it’s coming! There are already some lovely pieces that will take you into the next season, including shirts, lightweight jackets and knitwear. We’ve even got some gorgeous waterproof raincoats in the sale, because surely one day we’ll actually need them again!   As always, the fun of Style It Live is putting pieces together and showing you how you can mix and match your wardrobe. A skirt with a simple tee, linen trousers with a colourful shirt, a co-ord worn together or separately:  there are lots of ways to make your existing wardrobe work harder. But here's something we've noticed over the years at Kings Road Fashions... There are certain brands that simply never let us down. They're the ones our customers ask for by name. During this week's Style It Live, we took a closer look at some of those dependable stars—and a few hidden gems that perhaps deserve a little more attention. But first...
