And then there are clothes that make it look like you’ve made an effort without actually making much effort at all. Hello, NAYA. This week on Style It Live, we spent a good chunk of the evening exploring the latest NAYA collection – and it turns out that comfort, clever design and looking fabulous can happily live together. Who knew? WATCH STYLE IT LIVE HERE So, what makes NAYA so good? If you know NAYA, you’ll know that it’s rather brilliant at relaxed dressing. The shapes are easy, the fabrics are wonderfully wearable and there’s always something interesting going on – a clever pocket, an unexpected texture, a great neckline or an unusual silhouette. And, importantly, the clothes don’t look like you’ve simply decided to stay in your pyjamas all day. Although they can be almost as comfortable.   Black meets chocolate NAYA has traditionally been known for its black-based winter collections, but this season there’s a beautiful chocolate colour joining the party. And we’re very happy about it. Black and chocolate together is one of those combinations that just works. It feels autumnal without being predictable and gives your wardrobe something a little different without requiring a complete personality transplant. One of our favourite looks combined a black jersey top with chocolate and black tech-fabric pieces, finished with a fabulous two-tone snood. The snood itself cleverly mixes the two colours, so you can show as much black or chocolate as you fancy. Very clever. Very NAYA.   The trousers you’ll actually want to live in The NAYA tech fabric is another reason we love the collection. It’s soft, comfortable, easy to wear and easy to look after – basically ticking quite a lot of boxes before we’ve even got to the styling. This season we’ve got the iconic narrower cuffed trouser, which gives a lovely streamlined silhouette, as well as a new, much wider barrel-leg shape. The new style has a more exaggerated horseshoe silhouette with pleat detailing and an elasticated waist. Because apparently trousers can be both stylish and forgiving. We approve. And if wide legs aren’t your thing, the narrower cuffed shape is still very much here for you.       Layering made easy NAYA is also brilliant for layering. We showed a simple jersey T-shirt topped with one of the collection’s easy popover pieces. With its stand-up cowl neck, zip details and soft textured fabric, it instantly gives a simple outfit a little more interest. It’s one of those pieces you can just pop over a T-shirt and suddenly feel like you’ve actually styled your outfit. No complicated outfit planning required. Job done.   Luxe lounging, but make it NAYA And that really sums up what we love about this collection. NAYA is perfect for those days when you want to be comfortable but still look pulled together. Working from home? Yes. Weekend wandering? Absolutely. Lunch with the girls? Definitely. Sofa, slippers and a serious commitment to doing absolutely nothing? Also yes. And when someone unexpectedly rings the doorbell? You’re already dressed. That’s the beauty of it. Our favourite bit? The fact that you don’t have to buy a whole new wardrobe to make NAYA work. The pieces are designed to mix, match and layer, so you can wear them in lots of different ways. Pair the tech trousers with a simple top. Add a textured layer. Throw on the two-tone snood. Mix black with chocolate. Change the shoes and you’ve changed the mood. It’s easy dressing, but never boring dressing. And we think that’s a pretty good combination. For look two, we’ve paired a gorgeous Mama B Cimone jacquard jacket with coordinating Rima trousers in the larger blue check, creating a relaxed little suit that looks effortlessly stylish.
